Getting ready for summer can be a scary thing. Rummaging through your closet for bikinis, swimwear, and summer dresses could make you scurry back in and hide in your closet, along with your old clothes. Luckily, Bubilu is here to rescue you of your summer fashion nightmares with select styles and fashions that are truly unique.
Bubilu, pronounced bubby-lou, means a term of endearment, full of life, or utopian. A great name for a store that is colorful, fun filled with garments that literally look like they’ve just been released by major designers.
But wait, they are major designers! With Ed Hardy, Betsey Johnson, Lucky, and Cosa Bella, it’s no wonder why women and teens come here to get a flair of New York City. The business opened in 2009, and Bubilu has already attracted a major crowd who appreciate the finer fashions in life.
Owner Rebecca Furmansky Delights in Bringing Fashions to Downtown Canandaigua
Owner Rebecca Furmansky reveals that she doesn’t like going to malls. “I love going to small shops or boutiques, even though I’m not a shopper.“ After going to several fashion shows in Vegas and Manhattan, discovering what is cutting edge in fashion, she quickly learned how shopping can be fun, a little frivolous, and very glamorous.
She now shops Downtown Canandaigua, utilizes the services, and loves living here. A native of Canandaigua, she moved back from California and doesn’t miss the West Coast much. “I love the beauty in all the seasons, which we didn’t get in San Diego. With all the rush and traffic out there, this feels like I’m on vacation here.” Rebecca is the mother of two boys and moved back in Canandaigua to be close to her family.
Bubilu’s swimwear includes two pieces and a growing demand for one-pieces. While swimwear is a focus, Bubilu has now branched out to dresses and make-up, including an emotionally activated lip gloss which is a big seller. There are also handbags, robes, and Thymes bath and body. The mix of must haves in her shop are favorites that she cannot live without.
Apparel and swimwear in different price points attract many.
For the budget conscious, there are more affordable designers such as Tres’ Bien, Candice, and others that will absolutely amaze shoppers, including mix and match tops and bottoms to create your own ensemble. Her clientele are mothers and daughters, although grandmoms are always welcomed to browse through the racks of colorful fabrics.
