Here’s some of the latest news from Downtown Canandaigua:

July is an especially busy month, filled with events and happenings to get you out and about.  The Merchants on the street are working hard with their shops and galleries to bring you new and exciting products, apparel, and art.  The restaurants have extra staff so they can accommodate you, while they create new and tantalizing dishes.  If anyone is planning on staying here in Canandaigua at a hotel or bed and breakfast, please call and reserve your stay, July is very busy.

Free Summer Concert Series at the Commons Park Thursdays

A new way to spend Thursday Nights!  Enjoy great music acts in Downtown Canandaigua!  Featuring bands on our Commons Stage (Main and Coach Streets), for Free Concerts.  Enjoy happenings and special promotions before each concerts, encouraging you to Spend the Day in Canandaigua!  For more info and a schedule of performers click here

Backyard BBQ back at New York Wine and Culinary Center – Thursdays

Fire up the grill! You’re invited to a backyard barbeque, from 5:30-9pm under our tent, Thursdays, July 1 through September 2. Enjoy NYS Craft Beer with classic grill and slow food favorites such as pulled pork, mini burgers, corn on the cob, macaroni salad and more.

Christmas in July Event

Summer Sidewalk Sale – Thursday July 22nd-Sunday July 25th

Moonlight Stroll Music Series July 23, 2010 Time: 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM

The Gardens glow again at Sonnenberg Gardens! Select musicians across genres offer a little night music while you take in Sonnenberg’s nocturnal bliss. Complete the evening at the cash wine bar, with light refreshments, or by sojourning the gardens in a horse and carriage ( for a modest fee.) $9 per person/$7 for members. Featuring Bristol Mountain Bluegrass.

Laurel Wemett of Cat’s in the Kitchen is again offering her 4 week class, Collector’s Roundtable on Thursday evenings   (beginning 7/15 from 7 – 9 p.m.).  These will focus  antiques and collectibles with a bit of local history thrown in.   There is a different speaker each week.    Registration required.

Anyone wanting details, drop by the store or give Laurel a call (394-3994). The class meets locally (we are using St. John’s Episcopal Church dining hall since OCAC has closed) with visits to TWO local antique shops  (outside Canandaigua).
